I was born in Räckelwitz in 1973 and have lived in Schmölln near Bischofswerda since 2002.

Painting and drawing have been a passion of mine since I was a child. However, after finishing secondary school in Neustadt/Saxony, I first learned three non-art-related professions and accompanied my son and daughter through their childhood alongside my professional life.
It wasn't until 2013 that I rediscovered my love of visual art and have devoted myself intensively to painting ever since. I attended a painting circle in Bischofswerda for a few months under the guidance of Falk Nützsche, who taught me the basics of pictorial composition. After that, I began to develop my feeling for colors and shapes on my own. An honest and great teacher and friend until his death in 2021 was the Prague painter Vladimír Mencl.

My works are characterized by natural impressions, constant observation of the changing seasons and times of day and the implementation of the constantly changing colour impressions of matter in the light. The music I experience while painting or playing the piano or violin has a significant influence on the creation of my paintings. Since 2017, I have dedicated myself to learning the Czech language as an important part of my love for the Czech landscape and culture.

My most beautiful challenge to date was designing the Gossdorf pearl in summer 2022, a large, rotating globe at a hiking trail cross in Saxon Switzerland.

I have been passing on what I have learned and my own experience of using a paintbrush to secondary school pupils for several years now. Painting and color experiments are on the "timetable" of an afternoon program at an independent school.
